"SANCTUARY" IS DEDICATED TO
The people of St Lucia.
Your strong independent nature
and passion for living is truly
inspirational!!
It's quite amazing how one's viewpoints,
attitudes and expectations of life can change over periods of time
or in various environments.
Most of the work you are about to
read occurred during my stay on one of the most beautiful islands
in the world, St. Lucia, which is located in the West Indies between
St. Vincent and Martinique.
Part of my heritage and roots come
from this island, and during my last vacation, I fell in love with
with tropical everything, including lifestyle, vegetation, festivities,
and of course, the beautiful people. So i moved here.
Of course, all that glitters...So...having
experienced trying to adapt to this rather unique culture, i found
myself frustrated and battleing more and more each day against the
grain of what took centuries to develop.
"It is said that within every
adversity lies a seed of equal or greater benefit." I applied
this theory to my life and began writing profusely as a form of
therapy and release to better my transition to my new environment.
Extraordinarily, it seems that my
personal pains have been inspirational and have seemingly improved
my outlook and abilities in life in general. Thank You St. Lucia!
If asked which attribute I posses
that i found to be most enhanced, I could not answer.
However, I could tell which personal
trait i have changed for the better during my stay here with a quote
from Abraham Lincoln.....
"It is better to remain silent
and thought fool than to speak up and remove all doubt"
Foreward
St Lucia blossoming
Her youth aspiring
to creating
incorruptible
art
untainted
by party politics
Dead dinosaurs
Decaying in enchanted forest.
Flowers spring
from seeds sown
in the spring of youth

Living in Futility….What
if???
What if…what if…. You existed in the wrong place,
at the wrong time, and you knew it? That’s how I have sometimes
felt.
What if….what if…. Your strongest attributes were
perceived as weaknesses? Your ideas, which were progressive and
insightful, were merely shrugged off? When does one say, “Time for
a change?”
What if your sincerity is scoffed at and your devotion
ignored? The essence of you, taken for granted because you divert
the flow of others. Regardless of who’s wrong or right? Something
or someone has to bend.
What if you step out of character to flow with
the rest, and toss and turn at night, haunted by your lack of integrity?
Lost and frightened, you tip toe through this surrealistic jungle
until you begin to deteriorate.
What if there’s a place in the universe where your
ideas are heard and revered? Your attributes respected and admired.
Your character not judged. There could be such a place. Find it
and go there even if only for a short time. You will know when you
are there because “what if” will not exist, “it is” will be “all”.
The Inevitiable
An interesting word, inevitable
Scary at times to me
We perceive it as hard consequence
Instead of solid reality
If you really think about it
Everything that we do
Will have inevitable results
The outcome, at times is up to you
Of course there’s unexpected news
We receive from time to time
Which brings painful inevitability
Leaving you at the scene of fate’s crime
True, some of us do earn bad plight
Others are caught off guard
The inevitable is not subtle
It exists as fates trump card
We tend to associate the inevitable
With darkness and despair
Hard work produces good results, at times...
The inevitable can be fair
This is solid reality
We believe our mistakes are forgettable
But as history repeats itself
We should learn to respect the inevitable
3. The Gift of Life
It’s odd…….
When a person is gravely ill or injured,
They picture life ethically and morally,
And try to balance each
in their favor.
Weighing out their mistakes with their personal assets,
trying to justify why it shouldn’t
be them lying there and wondering,
“Will I recover?”
It’s a time when,
suddenly, all of life’s beauty
was something they were blind to,
and all of their mistakes were due to this lack of insight.
Finally they ask,
“Why me?
I couldn’t possibly deserve this
More than so - and – so!”
But soon they must face the truth and realize
how small they are in the scheme of existence.
It is through illness
or pain that we learn
we are all only human,
and there is nothing more valuable
than the gift of life.
Through the Motions
Together,
Forever
Always together
and yet, we're apart
The satisfaction of companionship
distorted by insecurity.
Sparked by indifference,
Fed by ego,
We go through the motions of love.
Comforted by familiarity,
Contented by routine,
Each lives as one.
One means alone.
An endless cycle of habits,
We're out in the cold.
Yet, we go through the motions of love.
Fondness of friendship,
Deciet of self.
Respectfully, we both come home.
To face our faults and weaknesses,
Turn our backs and run.
Back into ourselves we turn,
And go through the motions of love.
HereToday
Here today, gone tomorrow
Applicable if you're on holidays
or a business trip or something of that sort
How about trying here today
Here Today!
That's like singing happy praise
to being alive at that moment
Sometimes you'll be told be yourself
be happy or be with me
How about just "Be"
Just be here today
Here Today!
An Introspective and
Sociological Look at Life as Humans
Why do people tent to pick their
noses more often while driving in their vehicles? Why do people
who are in debt believe that borrowing money gets them out of debt?
Why is it that many people who claim they are atheist pray to God
when they are in an airplane about to take off or land? Why don’t
people realize that history and trends repeat themselves simply
in the disguise of progress and modernization?
What does this say about humanity?
It tells me that in general we are arrogant, self serving, frightened
animals that abuse the privilege of intellect. Intellect through
its many facets is our constant ally and worst foe. I know there
is a God because nothing else could create such perfect imperfection.
The only issue which overshadows mankind’s capabilities are his
inabilities. The failure to balance spiritual existence with his
world environment constantly creates and magnifies the irony. Man’s
fervor to improve the world is also destroying it. A constant catch
22 with a twist. Don’t mistake this as a pessimistic outlook. It
is simply a whimsical overview of a personally larger undertaking.
The insight I do gain however is of personal aid
to myself. It helps me understand my path and direction and where
they fit into the scheme of life for these fast times. I believe,
my friends…this….We are here to establish peace of mind as best
we can. Peace of mind comes through self awareness and acceptance
here and now for tomorrow and thereafter. It becomes a more powerful
vehicle when two people can work towards this together. We are meant
to have mates. For the majority of people, that is part of Nature’s
plan. Unfortunately, in this day and age there is a misconception
about the notion of being “compatible” with one’s mate. The formula
for true compatibility in friendship or a bonding relationship is:
Positive attitude
Open communication
Spirituality and Faith
When these qualities are common practice, a couple can be enroute
to peace of mind which can be amplified with their wisdom. This
is my belief - The bottom line!!!
Crossroads to
Eden
There is many a person
In this world of late
Who sidesteps through life
Yet they think they walk straight
Lost in image
Satisfying their needs
Sidestepping the truth
Whilst they cast their seeds
Proudly they stand
Eyeing all that’s been planted
But maintaining life’s garden
Has been taken for granted
But heed this warning
‘Bout the seeds you sow
In the garden you’ve planted
Weeds also can grow
And whilst you sidestep
Through your garden rows
You step on the plants
Thus their rooting is slowed
Weak in spirit
You won’t dig the weeds
Too busy to water
You forget your crop’s needs
They’ll come a time
Due to your own neglect
Your crop will wither
Leaving weeds erect
So again you’ll sidestep
Choosing to leave
Looking for new land
In search of reprieve
The road is familiar
You’ve walked it before
You’ll swear that you have
You won’t be quite sure
Then comes the reminder
Of past seeds you sowed
Your journey brings you
To face the crossroads
For those who’ve walked straight
Removing their weeds
When comes time for new land
The crossroads will lead
But so many others
Moving on being clever
Won’t find the right roads
They’ll be lost forever
Their roads will lead them
Back to their garden
Being stubborn they’ll pass
Whilst their soul starts to harden
Soon they will tire
Then hungry and beaten
They’ll watch others stride
To their garden of Eden
Walk straight through your garden
Keep all the weeds hoed
Eat well during harvest
Then face the crossroads
Souly Imagination
Dip into a jasmine fountain
Frolic through the licorice hills
Let your flowered trumpets sound
Put conscious thought on window sills
Swing along through concrete webbing
Freely soar with silken wings
Let your head saunter alone
Forget all tangible things
Turn a valley inside out
Kiss Mother Nature’s feet
Paint the sea with metal
Let real and unreal meet
Wrestle with an ogre
Color evil pink
Conduct a pickle orchestra
Free your mind: don't think
Sip the nectar of a cloud
Stretch your arms forever
Eat boiled marbles with your eggs
Put your soul together
Disco dance with alter ego
Burn a tower made of gold
Bend sunlight until it ruptures
Put reality on hold
YOU’RE THE OBSTACLE
In life there’s many obstacles,
That you are bound to meet.
At times they seem impossible
To cope with or defeat.
But put things in perspective,
Imagine if you can,
Creating your own universe,
Planets, stars, then man.
Yes, it’s quite a wonder,
An act of God no doubt.
A tapestry of mystery,
We’ll not fully figure out.
Just take a look around you,
Consider what you see.
Imagine what it really took
To create earth’s majesty.
So speaking relatively,
Your obstacles are small.
Compared to those God overcomes,
Yours don’t exist at all.
Our Last Conversation
Where was I?
Oh yes…I remember.
Let’s move this along, shall we?
Interesting thoughts could transpire.
I could be wrong, we’ll see.
What I last remember,
Is that I was thinking…as usual,
About my current state of affairs.
You say it’s due to my outright refusal,
To find some strength in prayers.
What’s that you say?
When will I learn?
You’re being impertinent and rude!
When did I make my life your concern?
Your blunt remarks are at best crude!
Wait a minute!
Don’t leave…I’m sorry,
Sometimes the truth can hurt.
I have to admit I’m starting to worry.
Yes, I know there’re issues I skirt.
Alright…Alright!
Fine…mind if I speak.
At this point there’s not much I can say.
What you’re saying is my spirit is weak
And to strengthen it, prayer is a way.
I ask you.
If…just saying if…
If I try prayer to find resolution
Am I not expecting an unwarranted gift?
Does prayer give me spiritual restitution?
I’ll say this.
I need something …anything.
Right or wrong, I’m being forced by desperation.
So…you’re off, well sometime give me a ring.
I’ll tell you what’s changed since our last conversation.

BEWARE OF THE
CHAMELEON
Beware of the Chameleon
Harmless as they seem
Adapting at convenience
They bland with any scene
The ultimate survivors
Transition is their pride
They hunger right beside you
Yet feel no need to hide
Beware of the chameleon
They know beware of you
Instinctively they shed their skin
So they can start anew
Confronted by adversity
If their escape should fail
They don’t stand and face the fight
They run and drop their tail.
“Cultured”
Vagabond
Hi there! My name is Blah – de – blah.
Your’s names, what did you say”
I couldn’t understand you
Because you’ve turned to walk away.
Hey, it doesn’t matter much,
Yeah, I’ll move along,
But I’m not just anyone,
I’m a “Cultured” Vagabond.
Sometimes it can be unwise
To judge books by their cover.
If you would read me from page one,
There’s plenty to discover.
Wait! I know what’s on your mind.
Where the hell did he go wrong?
Don’t mistake me for a bum.
I’m a “Cultured” Vagabond.
I’ve missed out on the privilege
Of owning house and car.
I don’t have a bank account.
My bank is in the bar.
But speaking from experience.
Uh-huh that I can do.
I’ve seen and done so many things.
I’ll list just a few.
I used to live in Hollywood.
I’ve traveled cross all seas.
Stayed in dream homes by the beach.
Dined with Royalty.
Philosophized with mystic folk
And skied many a mountain
I’ve drummed all night with native friends.
I’ve sipped from champagne fountains.
I’ve explored the pyramids.
Drank fresh water with a fawn.
So don’t think I’m just anyone
I’m a “Cultured” Vagabond.
I’ve viewed great art throughout the world.
I gigoloed in Spain.
Hunted food with bow and arrow.
Travelled Europe on a train.
I’ve tried illicit’s now and then
But please don’t take me wrong.
I’d like to learn all the facts of life.
I’m a “Cultured” Vagabond.
He’s not either brain or brawn.
He’s a “Cultured” Vagabond.
He may be napping on your lawn
But that’s the “Cultured” Vagabond.
QUANTUM DREAM BABBLE
Turn it on…
Dammit! Turn in on…
That’s better
A blast of light shooting
In every direction.
Past infinity…
Past forever…
Passing through life like…
Like what?
Like I pass through life.
Like life passes through me.
Either or…
Pure energy in motion with
No particular destination.
No true patterns are visible.
Yet its existence is structured.
It’s source…
Well it looks black, but
It is probably invisible light.
Total darkness truly doesn’t exist.
There is always light.
It’s a perception faux pas.
Tune yourself to light and you’ll be tuned to infinity.
Beginning and End
Become irrelevant.
Past and Future
Become open doors.
Death proceeds life.
Energy is forever.
Picture This
In the beginning...there was the end.
In the end...there was the beginning.
The continuation of energy sparked by the energy of continuation.
A symbiotic collision birthing creation.
The beginning of completion.
The end of finality. The meeting of the suns.
As was before...as shall always be.
Blasts of light and substance reaching to forever
with various trace elements
stopping along the way. It is the pattern of these trace elements
that create magnetic force.
It is magnetic force that creates uniform energy.
It is uniform energy that creates a universe.
As one universe dies another is born.
As one universe is born another dies, as it is with life everywhere.
Continuation.
New galaxies
New dimensions stretching to forever.
We exist in a minuscule portion of this forever to feed the endless
cycle.
Our planet, birthed of limitless energy feeds the continuum.
Continuum feeds the necessity of rebirth.
Life comes and goes as an expression of energy.
Therefore life tries to emulate the essence of energy.
Exist. Expand. Advance. Balance.
This creates the symbiotic relations of continuation of energy and
the energy of
continuation.
You are a seed which will feed the birthing of universes reaching
to forever.
You are forever part of the beginning and the end.
FUNNY THOUGHTS
I'll bet you that if I were to put as much energy
into making tracks as I do covering them, I would own the worlds
longest tracks without a doubt.
THE END
What a final word "end" is.
The end is near. Ooohhh ominous.
Will it finally end?
"Life versus bad habits."
Tune in tomorrow
